Local Inspect is built so the pages you look at stay with you. It inspects on your device, there are no accounts, and page content only ever leaves when you deliberately ask the assistant.
The short version. We do not collect your personal data and run no servers that store your content. The DOM, CSS and project files you inspect are processed on your device. The AI assistant is off until you turn it on and add your own key; when you use it, only the context you ask about is sent, straight to the provider you chose, never to us.

Local Inspect is a web inspector that runs on your iPhone or iPad. When you open a live URL or a local project folder, the page, its DOM, its CSS, its resources and any project files are loaded and inspected on your device. This content is not uploaded to us, and we have no ability to access, view or retrieve it. The app works offline for local content, and the local server and inspector run entirely on your device and local network.
Nothing that identifies you. Local Inspect does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address or any personal details to work. We do not operate analytics, advertising or tracking software of our own inside the app, and we do not record the pages, URLs or projects you inspect.
Local Inspect includes an optional AI assistant. It is turned off until you enable it and add your own API key. When it is on and you ask a question, only the context for the scope you chose is sent: the selected element, the current page’s rendered source, or the relevant project files. That request goes directly from your device to the AI provider whose key you supplied, using your own key. It is sent only to that provider and never passes through or is stored by us.
You choose the provider: Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI or Google (Gemini). Their handling of anything you send is governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy policy, for example Anthropic, OpenAI and Google. Your API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and are sent only to their matching provider. You can turn the assistant off and remove your keys at any time; with it off, nothing about your pages leaves your device.
Local Inspect is free to use, with an optional one-time Pro unlock sold through the Apple App Store. When you buy Pro, Apple processes the payment and handles the transaction. We never see or store your card details or billing information. Apple’s handling of that data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Local Inspect includes no crash reporting or analytics of its own. If you have left “Share With App Developers” turned on in your iOS settings, Apple may make anonymised, aggregated crash reports available to us to help fix bugs. This data is collected and anonymised by Apple, reaches us only in aggregate, and does not identify you. You can turn it off at any time in Settings under Privacy & Security.
Local Inspect contains no advertising, no third-party trackers and no analytics SDKs. The only third parties in ordinary use are Apple, as the App Store and platform provider, and, only if you enable the assistant, the AI provider whose key you supply.
Local Inspect is a developer tool intended for people building and testing websites, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Depending on where you live, for example under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR or the CCPA, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. Because Local Inspect keeps your content on your own device and we hold no copy, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve or erase. If we change how the app works in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
